The Wild Tub keeps things beautifully simple. Fill the tub with water, light a wood fire beneath the stainless steel heating coil and let nature do the rest.

As the water inside the coil heats, it rises and flows back into the tub, while cooler water is drawn into the bottom of the coil. This creates a continuous natural circulation known as the thermosiphon effect — heating your Wild Tub without pumps or electricity.

Use the paddle occasionally to help distribute the heat evenly and keep an eye on the temperature gauge until you've reached your perfect soaking temperature.

Want it cold instead? Simply leave the fire off and use your Wild Tub as a natural cold plunge.

Heat-up time will vary depending on the starting water temperature, outdoor conditions, the type of wood being burned and whether you use a cover.

As a general guide:

• 5ft Oval — approx. 2–3 hours to heat from around 15°C to 38°C

• 6ft Oval — approx. 2.5–3.5 hours to heat from around 15°C to 38°C

If you're starting with much colder water, allow a little longer.

For the fastest heat-up time, use dry hardwood, keep a strong consistent fire going and cover the tub while heating. Stirring the water occasionally will also help distribute the heat evenly.

Tip: An insulated cover can make a noticeable difference to heat-up time, especially in colder weather.

With a strong, consistent fire and an efficient setup, the water can reach temperatures above 45 However, we recommend keeping your Wild Tub at a more comfortable 37–40°C for soaking.

Always use the included thermometer to monitor the water temperature, and stir the water regularly while heating to ensure an even temperature throughout the tub.

Controlling the temperature of your Wild Tub is simple — it's all about managing the fire.

Use the temperature gauge to keep an eye on the water as it heats. For a hotter soak, add more dry wood and maintain a strong fire. As you approach your desired temperature, allow the fire to reduce and add less fuel.

Use the stirring paddle regularly while heating to circulate the water and ensure an even temperature throughout the tub.

If the water gets too hot, simply stop adding wood and add some cold water if you want to bring the temperature down more quickly.

For hot-tub use, we recommend a comfortable bathing temperature of around 37–40°C.

Unlike an electric hot tub, there are no thermostats or controls — just fire, water and a little attention.

Yes! One of the great things about the Wild Tub is that the same fire heating your water can also be used for cooking.

Simply place a suitable heat-resistant grill or cooking grate over the heating coil and use it to cook while the tub heats — perfect for grilling sausages, burgers, vegetables or even putting on a pan.

It turns the Wild Tub into more than a hot tub — it becomes part of the whole outdoor experience.

Item dYes. You can leave water in your Wild Tub between uses, provided the water is kept clean and properly maintained.

If you're using the tub regularly, we recommend using a suitable water treatment and keeping the tub covered when not in use to help prevent leaves, debris and contaminants from entering the water.

If you're not treating the water, it's best to drain, rinse and refill regularly to keep it fresh.

During freezing conditions, always drain the heating coil, hoses and fittings when the Wild Tub isn't being used. Water left inside the system can freeze, expand and cause damage.

Keep it clean, keep it covered, and always protect the system from freezing.escription

The coil should always sit on a solid, level, non-combustible surface. Good options include paving slabs, concrete, stone, gravel or a suitable fireproof hearth pad.

Never place the coil directly on timber decking, grass or any combustible surface. The fire produces significant heat and hot embers can fall underneath or around the coil.

If installing your Wild Tub on decking, create a dedicated fireproof area beneath and around the coil, with enough protection from radiant heat and stray embers.

Always keep the area around the coil clear of dry leaves, furniture and other combustible materials.

Once the fire has completely cooled, remove the larger pieces of burnt wood and ash from inside the coil. A small fireplace shovel and brush work well for this.

You don’t need to get the coil spotless after every use — simply clear out excess ash so there is good airflow for your next fire. Occasionally, you can give the inside and outside of the stainless-steel coil a wipe or rinse to remove soot and dirt.

Tip: Always make sure the fire and embers are completely extinguished and the coil has cooled before cleaning.

The Wild Tub is designed to be simple and durable, but a few basic precautions will keep it safe and performing at its best.

• Never light the fire without water circulating through the heating coil.

• Always ensure the tub is filled to the correct level and the hoses and coil are completely full of water before lighting.

• Keep the fire and hot coil well away from children, pets and combustible materials — surfaces can become extremely hot.

• Never block, close or restrict the water flow while the fire is burning.

• Stir the water regularly while heating to distribute the heat evenly and always check the temperature before entering.

• Keep the tub and water clean and periodically check hoses, fittings and connections for wear, leaks or damage.

• Allow the fire and coil to cool completely before draining or carrying out maintenance.

• During freezing weather, fully drain the coil, hoses and fittings after use to prevent frost damage.

• Never leave a lit fire unattended.
